Codac brings energy and honesty to the New Orleans rap scene and beyond

New Orleans rapper, Codac, hit the scene with a new Bonnie and Clyde type single with Lana Amazen titled "Ride or Die" and recently he took a moment from recording to sit down with AGirlandHerHipHop.com to answer five questions about his career and where it is headed.

See what's next for this up and coming rapper below.

1. What's the one word that describes your flow?

Energetic. I try to put the energy that I like to hear into every verse. Every bar must keep the listener's attention.

2. What can listeners expect when they hear your music?

That's tough to answer. Sometimes I am all over the place with emotion and concepts, but I can say I will never half ass on a verse. If I don't think people will start the song from the top after listening then it's not a good enough song.

3. When can we expect a full project and what's the name of it?

I am currently working on a solo project and compilation with Lana Amazen. My project is tentatively titled "Prophet" which should drop in the quarter. Looking to wrap up the album with Lana, no title yet, some time in February.

4. When did you know that you wanted to become a rapper?

I always loved words, used to write essays and poetry when I was real young. I got into rapping around 12 years old and fell in love at about 17 when I had my 1st trip to the studio. I been addicted since then.

5. How do you stand out in the New Orleans hip-hop scene?

I'm me. I honestly don't try to stand out, but I just try to make the right moves. I don't plan anything with a local mindset. I compare everything I do to big acts because that is my real competition. From recording quality to videos to promo and of course the music period I try to do everything in a professional manner.

6. Anything else you would like to add?

I appreciate you for the opportunity and just continue supporting the movement. Much more good music to come. Bars & Stripes, GMA, M2Ment.
