"I could take over the world," R&B singer Chelsea spills on her career plans

Music is everything for some people and for 16-year-old R&B new comer, Chelsea, singing is becoming a means to taking over the industry. The star was born in Lithonia, GA and was pushed to display her chops to the world by her parents in local festivals and talents shows.

"My mom and dad encouraged me to become a singer," says Chelsea and after belting out Corinne Bailey Rae's "Put Your Records on That" to her peers the songstress knew she had what it took to be something special.

“I have to admit, the first time I heard them scream my name, I was addicted. I’ve always been competitive and active, participating in basketball, soccer and swimming while in school...but singing to an audience just felt different… it felt right and I knew then if I worked hard and developed my craft I could take over the world,” adds Chelsea.

Developing her craft is what Chelsea is currently hard at work doing with songs like All I Do featuring rapper Ca$h Out, the youngster is showing no signs of slowing down. In honing her craft the teenager credits Rihanna and Aalyiah as her influences in creating her dancing and singing style.

"They (Aalyiah and Rihanna) have there own style that can't be compared to anyone, " she says.

Its examples like Aalyaih and Rihanna that encourage the goal of winning Grammy Awards and of making platinum selling albums in the future.Chelsea has set a five year plan for herself that includes musical triumphs of awards and of course having number one singles.

"In five years my voice well change and my music will change. I see myself with a few albums and a couple of Grammy Awards in that time," predicts the teen.

On the way to greatness a new single is set to be released titled "Kissin" were Chelsea had the opportunity to work with Pierre Medor who wrote songs for Ciara and Brandy. The track depicts a young girl who is daydreaming of her boyfriend and k-i-s-s-i-n-g him, a natural pass time for most teens, but for a star having a boyfriend is not a luxury.

"I don't have time for a boyfriend because I'm way to busy focusing on my music. I'm in the studio most of the time and my focus is my career and my music," gushes the songstress.

And after getting off tour with Mindless Behavior and an EP set to drop in late spring, this Georgia Peach is set to began a path for world dominance.

The video for "Kissin' will hit this month (February), so until then listen to the track and keep up with everything Chelsea on her website at and follow her on Twitter @TheyKnowChelsea.
