Energetic, witty and fierce, North London's Lady Lykez puts it all together to deliver a black eye to opponents rather its male or female. A stand out on "Lord of the Mic 7," Lykez drops clever lyrics in her hype session with lines like, "Everything about you sour, you're the type to sweat for an hour and refuse to get in the shower, that's sour," when referring to a male challenger.
"Its like female and male artists are quite segregated In the music industry with females not being taken as seriously as the guys. I wanted to show that talent is talent no matter what sex you are. Its getting so much better now ;)," says Lady Lykez referring to her battle with a male emcee on "Lord of the Mic 7."
Recently Miss Lord of the Mic is ready to present a body of work starting with the catchy track featuring Face "What Are Those!" Found out more about Lady Lykez and her music in the Q&A session below.

Introduce yourself, tell us where you from or as we say what set you reppin'?
My name is Lady Lykez and I'm a rapper/ artist from North London.
I've always loved music from when I was really young. I grew up on the stage whether it was acting singing or dancing I loved performing. I went to a performing arts school and attending 'Stage Coach' for six years as a child.
My music is very energetic and versatile. I like to rap about things that we all go through whether it be serious or funny. My lyrics are very witty most of the time as I love to have fun with my music.
Firstly it had never been done before. Its like female and male artists are quite segregated In the music industry with females not being taken as seriously as the guys. I wanted to show that talent is talent no matter what sex you are. Its getting so much better now ;)
What would you say is the difference between US female rappers and UK female emcee?
Erm, not much tbh, apart from the accent of course, lol. Some of us spit faster as grime is usually 140 bmp but as rap goes its all pretty similar these days.In this male dominated culture, where do you see female emcees at this point?
Females are definitely rising fast in the music industry in the UK which is really nice to see. We all getting stuck in, lol
I co- produced the track with another producer/ engineer called Elliot Bradley. It also features a legendary emcee called 'Face'. I loved making the video, we caused havoc in West End, go and check it out! ;)
Everyone has seen the vine right? Lol. In my clash for LOTM7 my opponents dress sense was very much out of the ordinary. He was wearing these horrible/ weird looking trainers and no one knew what they were so....WHAT ARE THOOOOSE!
Very very energetic! I don't want to see anyone sitting down. We turn up!
I would love to, I'm currently working on a body of work to release later this year, and soon as that's complete I must come over!!
